Did you know that the words that come out of your mouth, and how you say them, have a direct impact on what comes back to you from the Universe?

Here’s an example:

Your to do list is loooong and you get triggered just by looking at it. The phone rings and when you see it is your sister, you think yes!, someone that will listen to me vent. You proceed to tell her that you are so crazy busy and you are stressed because you don’t have time to do half the stuff on your to do list today. You hang up without even asking how she is because your heart is racing like a kangaroo is jumping inside your chest and you frantically rush out the door to tackle errands. You feel stressed all day, every checkout person is walking in molasses, and are in a crap mood by the time you see your family later in the day. You climb into bed exhausted and dreading having to do it again tomorrow.

OR

You realize your to do list is a little longer than normal, but you take a deep breath in, exhale, and tell yourself “I have time to get it all done. I complete my tasks and feel calm all day. I am grateful that I have the ability to take care of all of these tasks. This will be a productive and enjoyable day.” As you tool around town, lines are short, traffic lights turn green right when you need them to, your favorite songs play on the radio, and you are excited to see your family after a productive day.

Which sounds better to you???

I’ll take the second scenario, thank you!

The language we use sets us up for success or failure, and tells the Universe what we are looking for. We send out an energy of stress or contentment and we spend our day in that vibration.

Think about how you feel inside when you hear the following words:

should
shouldn’t
can’t
busy
don’t have time
supposed to
if only
exhausted
not enough

These are not feel good words! I always know when I used one of these words because I feel terrible inside when I do. I don’t feel energized, and I feel drained and stressed. I have been making a serious effort lately to be aware of my language and rephrase something when I don’t like how it sounded or felt when it came out of my mouth. I notice, pause, and choose differently. I feel better when I do and I feel my vibration lift. With enough practice I know I will have a shift in my word choice that will be more automatic. I am in the practicing phase right now, just where I need to be 🙂

I talk more about it in this short video.

Let me know in the comments what word you are ready to erase from your vocabulary!
